In a word...yes! If you enjoy peace and quite and solitude then a balcony is for you.The funny thing is if you go out onto your balcony at any time during your cruise you will see few fellow passengers out on theirs.

If you are traveling with small children who go to bed early then a balcony can provide a beautiful cruise experience. At the same time that the children sleep you and your traveling companion can sit out and enjoy watching the sea pass by while sipping a refreshing foo foo drink.

You can sunbathe and acquire no tan lines in the privacy of your balcony. Having your morning coffee and lounging on your own chaise before you are ready to face the crowd is a pleasure. Their are no chair hogs.

Of course if the cost of a balcony would prohibit you from cruising then by all means get the category of cabin you can afford. Once you have a balcony though you will be spoiled and may never go back to your inside cabin again.
